The Foundation's
CEO/President, Melissa Hanson, signed on to be a beta tester for
Microsoft's Office 2010 software. Microsoft liked her work so much that

blog provided us the opportunity to talk in detail about our Wise Kids Outdoors
program and why getting kids outdoors is so important.

discusses the need for fitness and nutrition education and names the
Foundation as a recommended source.
Milwaukee Recreation was one of the recipients of the 200 NRPA grant
program. The Wise Kids program proved so successful there that
subsequent funding was granted from Northwestern Mutual Life to expand
the program to eight centers in 2010. The Milwaukee
Courier reports on the fantastic work being done in Milwaukee.
As part of the NRPA/NRF grant program in the summer of 2009, the
community of San Juan Island, WA, received funding to run the Wise Kids
Outdoors program. Read about their success with the program in the Island

The Wise Kids® Outdoors program was run in the summer of 2009 in Corpus Christi, TX. The January 2010 issue of Recreation Management magazine profiled the program and the city.
